    Hello neighbors! The East Raleigh Citizens Advisory Council (ECAC) Community meeting will be held at Lion's Park Community Center (516 Dennis Ave) on Tues. Oct 20th @ 7pm.   Captain Morrison from the Raleigh Police Department will be in attendance to discuss recent crime reports and answer any questions or concerns you might have.   Council member Corey Branch plans to make an appearance.   Feel free to email: chair@east.raleighcac.org if you have any questions or would like to  discuss more items.    All are welcome!     Raleigh City Council Candidate Forum  At-Large and District D October 20th – 7:00pm Virtual Forum Hosted by   West Raleigh CAC, Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement and Hillsborough-Wade CAC are holding a joint candidate forum for Raleigh At-Large and District D Candidates on October 20th at 7:00 pm via Zoom. We will follow the traditional format of opening statements followed by questions from our moderators who will focus on topics of interest to our vibrant Raleigh neighborhoods.     The City of Raleigh's Solid Waste Services team will be hosting popups to hand out FREE biodegradable yard waste bags this fall. Swing by Glen Eden Pilot Park to pick up your five (5) FREE biodegradable paper yard waste bags! Solid Waste Services staff will be on hand to answer all your questions about the city's new service for residents, Enhanced Weekly Yard Waste Pickup. Stormwater staff will also be available to share information about Glen Eden Pilot Park's Green Stormwater Infrastructure and answer questions about water quality programs.

To ensure continuous improvement of the city’s land development regulations, staff utilizes the omnibus text change program to bundle these corrections and improvements into a single ordinance.   • Planning Commission Committee of the Whole

    The Committee of the Whole is an informal special meeting of the full Planning Commission, held to facilitate further discussions on specific referral items. The Planning Commission bylaws state that rezoning requests that are deemed inconsistent with the Comprehensive Plan and future land use map are automatically referred to the Committee of the Whole. Additionally, requests for Planned Development or Campus District are also automatically referred to this Committee. The committee typically meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. The meetings are held at the Raleigh Municipal Building (RMB), located at 222 West Hargett Street, in the Council Chamber or in conference room 305.     Unload your dearly departed electronic waste and let your old confidential documents shred in peace this spooky season!   Join Solid Waste Services for the City of Raleigh’s 2026 Shred + Dead event! From 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 24 at the Wilders Grove Solid Waste Services Facility, staff will be on hand to help residents dispose of specialty waste items.  Please use the main entrance for visitors and employees by turning right at the intersection of Corporation Parkway and Commerce Park Drive and follow the signage. A drive-thru system will be implemented to help ensure a smooth drop-off experience for residents. Participants are urged to drive slowly through the stations as there will be foot traffic and staff directing attendees.
