AGENDA • Quick update from the Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation. • Presentation about the Fred Fletched Park Improvement Project. This project is a collaborative effort to upgrade athletic and recreational facilities at the park. These improvements will benefit both the Raleigh community and students from Broughton High School. • Affordable Housing in Raleigh. Presentation by City staff from the Housing and Community Development Department about the affordable housing issues facing Raleigh, the department’s ongoing programs, and community needs. During the Q&A conversation following their presentation, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions about what Raleigh should be doing to solve our affordable housing crisis. Technical Teams are topic-based teams of subject-matter experts who meet to provide guidance and develop policy recommendations for the City’s Next Comprehensive Plan. Five teams will be organized by key topics included in the next plan: Land Use Transportation Housing and Neighborhoods Natural Resources Infrastructure and Services Each Technical Team will include: City staff Representatives from City boards and commissions Technical experts from the Raleigh community

The Committee of the Whole is an informal special meeting of the full Planning Commission, held to facilitate further discussions on specific referral items. The Planning Commission bylaws state that rezoning requests that are deemed inconsistent with the Comprehensive Plan and future land use map are automatically referred to the Committee of the Whole. Additionally, requests for Planned Development or Campus District are also automatically referred to this Committee. The committee typically meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. The meetings are held at the Raleigh Municipal Building (RMB), located at 222 West Hargett Street, in the Council Chamber or in conference room 305. Feb. 1 - April 26, 2026 Join us for an artist talk and reception for The Road Through “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” on March 26 from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. The Road Through "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" is an intimate documentary exhibition sharing the portraits and stories of LGBTQIA+ veterans who served before the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” The exhibition includes intimate portrait photography paired with first-person oral histories by photographer, oral historian, and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Theresa Scott.
