    TURBULENCE: Birds, Beauty, Language & Loss Panel Discussion Wednesday, April 23, 2025, 5:30-7 p.m. Nature has long been a source of inspiration for artists, ranging from early cave paintings filled with depictions of wildlife to the romantic Hudson River School landscape paintings. However, in more recent years, the relationship between artists and nature has been redefined. As the impact of humans on the environment becomes more apparent, artists have taken on the role of stewardship to help raise awareness of this critical moment. Please join us to discuss how these shifting perspectives have impacted the artist practice and how partnerships can help promote the mission of preservation and sustainability on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, 5:30-7 p.m. Block Gallery artist Deborah Kruger will address how being an environmental artist has shaped her practice. Scott Hazard is the current Artist-in-Residence for the City of Raleigh Nature Preserves.
