The Infrastructure and Mobility Committee is a subcommittee of the Planning Commission. This subcommittee can discuss issues related to transportation, transit, and infrastructure policies and improvements and connections related to land use or large transportation planning efforts. Hop on the Historic Raleigh Trolley to travel through time! During this series, we’ll visit different historic sites and museums in the Raleigh area for hands-on activities and to learn more about the past. Each month will feature a different field location with transportation provided on the Historic Raleigh Trolley. Participants must be accompanied by an adult; guardians attend for free. As Mordecai Historic Park investigates its own archaeological footprint, the park will host a series of lectures with local experts sharing about their projects at historic sites, cemeteries, and more. In November we welcome Melissa Timo, Staff Archaeologist and Historic Cemetery Specialist with the North Carolina Office of State Archaeology. She will speak on her work in historic cemeteries throughout the state and preservation efforts, challenges, and local resources. Registration is not required but is encouraged.
