Zoom meeting to discuss Athens Drive Library

Zoom Meeting to Discuss Athens Drive Library Yevonne Brannon is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting on Thursday, June 20th at 7 PM. I have gotten a lot of emails and texts about our community library. I think it is time to meet and discuss and decide how to move forward. We all want the bond to be successful but we also want a COMMUNITY library that serves our community - the trade we were asked to support was to move the library from the school INTO the community. This is still our goal. I, like many of you, would rather our library stay where it is if it cannot be IN OUR community not halfway to Cary, etc. This is an ongoing struggle but I am very hopeful we can work it out with the County. I know they have an interest in supporting our community's needs. I know many of you have said supporting the bond depends on how the bond supports us. - Yevonne Zoom Meeting

Events will take place from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. June 22 through Aug. 17, with the exception of July 6. Board of Elections staff will visit eight libraries over eight weekends to offer voter registration updates and upcoming election information. Visitors will also be able to get a photo voter ID, which is now required to be shown by registered voters who do not already have an acceptable ID. A full list of accepted voter IDs can be found at  ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id. “We always strive to empower more people to vote in Wake County by making information and resources as accessible as possible,” said Olivia McCall, Board of Elections director. “This collaboration with the libraries is an excellent opportunity for us to provide accurate information and help residents better prepare for the upcoming elections.” The two organizations have worked together to offer voter registration at local libraries for years, but this is one of the largest initiatives ever planned. The events provide a convenient opportunity for residents […]
