The event brings together City departments, community organizations, service providers, and volunteers to provide a wide range of support in one accessible location for the morning/afternoon.     The City of Raleigh's Solid Waste Services team will be hosting popups to hand out FREE biodegradable yard waste bags this fall. Swing by Buffaloe Road Athletic Park to pick up your five (5) FREE biodegradable paper yard waste bags! Solid Waste Services staff will be on hand to answer all your questions about the city's new service for residents, Enhanced Weekly Yard Waste Pickup.

    The Sir Walter Raleigh Awards for Community Appearance recognize outstanding new contributions to the character, environment, and appearance of the City of Raleigh. Since 1983, the Raleigh City Council has presented more than 200 Sir Walter Raleigh Awards to developers, designers, building owners, community groups, civic clubs, churches, and citizens.   • Stormwater Management Advisory Commission

    Raleigh Transportation Field Services Building 2550 Operations Way, Raleigh

    The registration link and agenda will be available a week before the meeting date. If you subscribe to this meeting series, you will receive the registration link and updates such as news and workshops. This commission meets the first Thursday of every month. Members discuss various stormwater needs and issues. Then, provides recommendations to staff and reports to Raleigh City Council.   • Parks Committee

    The committee is responsible for the study of issues related to park facilities, features, developments, and modifications. The committee prepares recommendations and proposals for the Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board based on in-depth review and study of park-related issues and concerns. The Parks Committee a standing committee of the Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board will meet in the Raleigh Municipal Building, 222 W. Hargett Street, Conference Room 303 at 6:00 pm.

    Raleigh Parks’ Moore Square, in partnership with @Get2KnowRaleigh, welcomes back the First Friday Market & Movie Night series for the 2026 season. This free monthly event brings the community together for local vendors, food trucks, live music, and a featured outdoor movie in the heart of downtown Raleigh.   • Movie Series at Pullen Park

    Pullen Park Amusements 520 Ashe Ave., Raleigh, NC

    Join us for movie nights this summer at Pullen Park! Families, friends, and film lovers of all ages are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs for a season of outdoor cinema on the event lawn. Screenings will take place on the first Tuesday of every month, kicking off in June and concluding in October. All screenings are free and open to the public. Refreshments and popcorn will be available for purchase at the Pullen Café.
