Join us for Anatomy of a Traffic Stop Join us for an interactive event, “Anatomy of a Traffic Stop,” hosted by the Raleigh Police Advisory Board! This event brings the community and the Raleigh Police Department together to discuss the rights and responsibilities of drivers and officers during a traffic stop. There will be a live traffic stop demonstration, with key moments paused for discussion. Streambank Planting at Durant Nature Preserve

Durant Nature Preserve 3237 Spottswood Street, Raleigh

Join Stormwater staff and NC State Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering extension specialists to help repair a stream bank at Durant Nature Preserve. Volunteers will help reestablish a healthy stream buffer along Simm's Branch by planting native plants along the bank. Native plants help prevent soil erosion and increase flood resiliency. This is a hands-on activity; volunteers will use small hand tools to cut, dig, and plant. Details Volunteers must be at least 14 years old; all volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All supplies will be provided. Please just come with boots/closed-toed shoes that can get wet and muddy. Each volunteer must individually register. Registration is required.

Stormwater Wildlife Paper Mosaic Workshop at Lions Park

Create your own colorful paper mosaic inspired by native animal and plant species. This family-friendly, hands-on workshop is perfect for beginners and guided by a local artist, Jeannette Brossart, who will share tips and techniques to help you craft a take-home masterpiece featuring the Neuse River Waterdog, Box Turtle, or Leopard Frog. Bring the Sculpture into Bloom | A SEEK Raleigh Event

Join Artist Taylor Allison for an interactive installation and performance where the audience will be invited to bring the "Lupine Love" sculpture into bloom. The base of the flower will be bare in the beginning, but the audience performs the "blooming" by placing small, separate bulbs of their choosing into the open slots of the tall base sculpture. "Lupine Love" is a soft sculpture inspired by the Carolina Lupine (Thermopsis villosa), a native herbaceous perennial with upright clumping bulbs.
