We will have two featured storytellers highlighting the history of Juneteenth, along with other activities! In honor of Juneteenth, come ride the Historic Raleigh Trolley for a special tour highlighting downtown Raleigh's Black heritage. Explore the city aboard the Historic Raleigh Trolley to learn more about the historic homes, schools, churches, and businesses important to the capital’s Black history. On June 22, 2025, at 3 p.m., the John P. “Top” Greene African American Cultural Park will host a reception to recognize its new name and vision. The event will offer the public an opportunity to experience the celebration of African American culture through art and music. A pop-up exhibition will feature local African American artists and music. The public will also learn about upcoming programs for the summer, including art classes, creative writing workshops, and genealogy classes. The City of Raleigh’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Program strives to increase opportunities for historically underutilized businesses and promotes diversity and inclusion in City contracting. The City and Wake County Public School System are excited to announce the 26th Annual Small Business Expo this June. At the expo, you will connect with local and state procurement and primary contractors looking for certified minority and women-owned businesses, learn about resources available to you, and attend workshops. Staff is hosting 2 "Sidewalk Sessions" at Eastgate Park on June 17th and June 23rd. These sessions are informal opportunities for residents to drop by and meet members of the project team, ask questions, share ideas, and learn more about the Quail Hollow Green Street Project. The June 17th session will be held from 4-6 pm adjacent to the community center. The June 23rd session will be be held from 4:30-6:30 adjacent to the community center.
