District D Neighborhood Alliance (DDNA) Meeting

Our next District D Neighborhood Alliance (DDNA) meeting is Saturday, September 21 at 9:30 AM at the Thomas G. Crowder Woodland Center at Lake Johnson. Healing Transitions will provide a presentation about their efforts to support folks experiencing homelessness, with a focus on services for alcohol and substance abuse. They are expanding their footprint at Dix Park with a new building to help more people. They will provide a Narcan (naloxone) training so that we know what to do if we encounter an overdose situation.

Hop on the Historic Raleigh Trolley to travel through time! During this series, we’ll visit different historic sites and museums in the Raleigh area for hands-on activities and to learn more about the past. Each month will feature a different field location with transportation provided on the Historic Raleigh Trolley. Participants must be accompanied by an adult; guardians attend for free. The target date for the Parks, Recreation, and Greenway Advisory Board meetinghas been updated to November 21, 2024 (previously October 17). Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to ensure the success of this project. Neuse River Park Master Plan Update We wanted to provide you with a few important timeline updates regarding the Neuse River Park Master Plan. Raleigh Parks is targeting the October 17th meeting of the Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board Meeting for Master Plan approval. We will be holding an additional Community Advisory Group meeting to determine which park elements will be prioritized for the first phase of development and which may need to be included in future phases.
