Elections, Libraries staff partner on one of largest initiatives to date The Wake County Board of Elections and Wake County Public Libraries are partnering to offer voter services at eight local libraries on Saturdays this summer. Events will take place from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. June 22 through Aug. 17, with the exception of July 6. Board of Elections staff will visit eight libraries over eight weekends to offer voter registration updates and upcoming election information. Visitors will also be able to get a photo voter ID, which is now required to be shown by registered voters who do not already have an acceptable ID. A full list of accepted voter IDs can be found at  ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id. “We always strive to empower more people to vote in Wake County by making information and resources as accessible as possible,” said Olivia McCall, Board of Elections director. “This collaboration with the libraries is an excellent opportunity for us to provide accurate information and help residents better prepare for the upcoming elections.” The two organizations have worked together to offer voter registration at local libraries for years, but this is one of the largest initiatives ever planned. Saturday on South

The City of Raleigh will host an event for community members to come learn about the future of Red Hat Amphitheater, Raleigh Convention Center, and South Street. The cookout will feature bounce houses, live music, and snow cones. Staff from Performing Arts, Transportation, Planning, and Parks departments will be on hand to explain what's planned and answer questions. It's free and open to the public. Date: July 20 Time: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Location: The City will close a portion of the 200 block of W. South Street from the railroad bridge to McDowell St (no access from Dawson to McDowell).

Asian Joy Mural Unveiling

This free and public event offers a unique opportunity to engage with oral histories of the AANHPI diaspora in North Carolina, exploring the convergence of Asianness, Southernness and community and highlighting how these experiences contribute to joy.
