Trees and the Comprehensive Plan

Trees were selected as one of six special topics for focus as Raleigh begins the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan.  This document is extremely important in guiding Raleigh's growth as all zoning and development regulations are required by North Carolina law to be consistent with the plan. Her talk will be on Women-owned green businesses of the early 20th century. This lecture delves into how the emergence of garden clubs during this era fostered a "shadow economy," enabling many families to navigate the challenges of the Great Depression.
