  • River Cane Wetland Park Invasive Plant Removal and Poetry Workshop

River Cane Wetland Park 4700 Kyle Dr., Raleigh, NC

From 12 noon to 1 p.m., join public artist Austen Camille for a short workshop to learn about the park as a shared home for many species and begin crafting a long-form poem inspired by the landscape. After the workshop, volunteers will continue invasive plant removal alongside Raleigh Parks staff, who will share insights about the species being removed and the native plants we’re making space for. Throughout the event, participants can pause to reflect and create short poems that connect the plants they’re working with to ideas of home. By the end, everyone will have a collection of poems to share, with the chance for their words to be featured in future artwork at River Cane Wetland Park! Register for the workshop.
