Raleigh Parks encompasses everything from youth and teen programs to nature and historic resources. Our department has open, part-time positions relevant to all fields of study, career goals, and interests. Join us at our job fair to chat with leaders from across the department, submit employment interest forms on-site that go directly to our department's top hiring managers, and enjoy free food and fun throughout! Join us for a festival of fantasy fun for all ages at Away With The Fairies in Mordecai Historic Park! Enter a market full of fairies, dragons, mischief, and more at this themed event. Set in Mordecai Historic Park's beautiful nature space, Paper & Stars Studio has gathered local makers, food vendors, and independent businesses to bring together the best of what Raleigh has to offer. Enjoy free crafts and activities, find the perfect handmade treasures, and celebrate Spring all while enjoying great food and fun. New this year, make your own fairy or dragon garden to take home! Hop out to Abbotts Creek and meet the Bunny! Participants will have the opportunity to play games and create crafts. After making your way through the crafts and games, stop for a picture with the bunny and pick up a plush egg from the egg patch. We will have egg-citing games and activities that include glow min-it to win it challenges, games, pre-stuffed egg hunt, snacks, tickets and prizes, and more. Activities and games will be engaging for the entire group in addition to having the mobile game truck parked outside! Spring into action and hop on over to Chavis Park for an EGG-straordinary hunt and SHELL-ebration. Young EGG-explorers will be divided into two age groups (0-3 years and 4-5 years) in search of bright, colorful eggs tucked away in designated areas of the park. Joyful EGG-pressions are sure to bring cheer as little chicks fill their baskets with goodies and prizes. Families will also EGG-perience spring crafts, free carousel rides, and other festive activities designed to EGG-cite and delight kids of all ages. Get Ready, Set...Glow, Hop, and Hunt. Let’s GLOW for an EGG-citing hunt with a GLOWED-up musical chair twist! Young EGG-plorers will venture into designated areas for a captivating search of luminous eggs and prizes. While the music sounds, youngsters can move around collecting eggs, but like musical chairs, each time the music stops, participants must freeze in place. Once the music strikes back into action, they can continue in search of goodies. Let’s LIGHT up the night with a dazzling hunt and SHELL-ebration! This will be a night to shine and is sure to spark fun with electrifying themed crafts, interactive games, radiant face painting and dynamic dance moves. Join us at Mordecai Historic Park for a fun-filled morning hunting for eggs! Egg hunts will begin at 11 a.m. for age groups 0-4, 5-9, and 10 and up. Come before and stay after for crafts, games, and more spring activities. This is a free event and registration is not required. Join us for Lake Lynn's first-ever World Theatre Day Event on Saturday, March 28, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Enjoy various Theatres showcasing upcoming shows, interactive theatre games, tabling, and craft activities. Registration is encouraged. There will also be two 35-minute improv sessions at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. You’ll create spontaneous characters, play engaging games, and build confidence while learning the art of thinking on your feet.
