  • Merry and Bright: An Enchanted Holiday Evening for Grownups

    Pullen Park Community Center 408 Ashe Ave, Raleigh, NC

    Put on your ugliest holiday sweater and sleigh your way to Merry & Bright: An Enchanted Holiday Evening for Grownups at Pullen Park. Stroll around the shimmering lake and take in the dazzling lights. Dance under the stars to live music on the event lawn. Ride the carousel (we’ve got a reindeer!). Take a lap on the holiday train. Play some reindeer games. Make and mail holiday postcards. Visit the North Pole and more! Beer, wine, and food will be available for purchase from the Pullen Café, along with local food trucks and breweries. All proceeds benefit Play It Forward, a Raleigh Parks initiative that helps provide financial assistance to families and individuals so everyone can enjoy recreation opportunities. Tickets go on sale Oct. 1 at 9 a.m. via Ticketmaster Space is limited, and tickets will not be available through any other outlets. This is a 21-and-over event.   • Reindeer Rodeo at Abbotts Creek

    It's the most wonderful time of the year for the Reindeer Rodeo! Bring your little one for a fun-filled morning of crafts, games, and treats. Participants are free to drop in at any time during the event. Please allow 30-45 minutes to rotate through different craft stations. Pre-registration is required for each participant.   • Gingerbread and a Jolly Trolley Ride!

    Welcome the holiday season and decorate a gingerbread house inspired by Raleigh’s historic sites! This family-friendly program will take you to two historic locations in Raleigh. Meet at Fred Fletcher Park and take a trolley ride to Latta University Historic Park to explore its history. Then, ride the trolley back to Borden Building at Fletcher Park to build your own gingerbread house inspired by the Latta house.     Santa is lost in Raleigh, and Holly the Elf needs your help to find him! Join Holly aboard the Historic Raleigh Trolley to help track down Santa in time for Christmas. Arrive up to 30 minutes early or stay after your tour to make a s’more! The trolley leaves from Mordecai Historic Park. Advanced registration is required.     Join us at the annual Holiday Open House at Mordecai Historic Park! See how the Mordecai House would have been decorated over the past 240 years and learn about different holiday traditions. Walk through the beautifully decorated house and enjoy music, discover historic artifacts, and more. On Saturday, Dec. 13, do some holiday shopping at the Merry and Bright: A North Pole Market! Visit our vendors to find unique gifts, create festive crafts, and sample food vendors. Enjoy seasonal entertainment and stop by a cooking demonstration in our historic kitchen.
