Pop Up Skate Event

The Tarboro Road Community Center is excited to host a monthly Pop-up Roller Skating session! Join us on Sunday, April 27 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for an afternoon of fun with a live DJ spinning the best old-school R&B, hip-hop, and funky beats for a perfect rhythm skate experience. This event is open to those 18 years and older, and remember, you’ll need to bring your own skates! Stop by the Center to register at the front desk, and enjoy a welcoming space for skaters of all skill levels—whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced skater. We’re building a safe, inclusive roller skating community where everyone can have fun and help foster a vibrant, healthy roller skating culture here in the Triangle! The Endless Grind – An Archive Photo Exhibit of Raleigh’s Skate History

In partnership with the City of Raleigh Museum and as part of Downtown Raleigh Alliance’s First Friday events for May, we’re hosting a one-night preview of select items from the Archive’s collection, ahead of a bigger project on Raleigh’s skate history. Sertoma Public Art – Scratch Block Workshop 1

Sertoma Arts Center 1400 Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC, United States

Join artist, Jim Gallucci, for a scratch block workshop at Sertoma Arts Center. Participants will carve their own design into a sand mold that will be cast with molten iron during an iron pour event later this year. Jim will incorporate the completed iron blocks into his design for new art that will be a part of the Sertoma expansion. All materials will be provided.
