Magic and mayhem abound at Spellbound at Mordecai! Join Paper and Stars Studio and Raleigh Historic Sites to experience Mordecai Historic Park under the spell of Halloween. Encounter mysterious characters and amazing magicians, have your fortune told, and decorate a pumpkin to take home. Kids and pets, wear your best Halloween finery to enter the costume contest and parade at 12:30 p.m. (kids) and 1:30 p.m. (pets)! Shop for enchanting handmade items and treats from our vendors and enjoy family-friendly stage performances, carnival games, and more. Join the Ghost Guild, Inc. for their annual Haunted Mordecai presentation with a new format this year! Team members will share their findings with small groups on immersive tours into the very locations where their data was collected. Reserve your tickets in advance on Eventbrite or on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event. This is a family event full of spooky fun for children - no horror, gore, weapons, or full masks, please. This event is free and open to the public. It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we are excited to announce a special event to honor and support those affected by breast cancer. We invite you to join us for a Pink Out Celebration in the Park on Oct. 26 from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. This event will be a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, raise awareness, and show our support for breast cancer survivors and those currently battling the disease. We have planned a day filled with activities, including: Live music and entertainment Food trucks and local vendors Inspirational speeches and survivor stories Fun activities for all ages We encourage everyone to wear pink to show solidarity and support. Whether it’s a pink shirt, hat, or even a ribbon, let’s paint the park pink! Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to those affected by breast cancer. Spooky Cars and Sweet Treats at Sanderford Road Bring your kids and their candy buckets to Sanderford Road to see all the decorated trunks! We will be passing out candy at each car. Get ready for a howling good time! This event is free and family-friendly.

Discover history, mystery and lore with your ghost host on the Haunted Trolley, if you dare, for a special late-night tour of downtown Raleigh’s most haunted places. Jump aboard and keep your eyes open for ghostly visitors of years past... they’ve just been dying to have you. Recommended for ages 6 and up due to frightening elements. Join your friends at Kiwanis and Active Adults for a family-friendly Halloween celebration! This event is aimed at children and their grandparents, as well as those who are cherished like grandparents. Get ready to experience the holiday spirit in a safe, creative, and inclusive way! We will have several stations throughout the park, including a DIY Candy bucket station, a candy hunt, and a special snack creation. We will also have a sensory-friendly festive film screening. In alignment with the community-led initiatives that created the 2014 Master Plan Design for Walnut Creek Wetland Park, it is the City’s goal to create a garden space designed to provide access to fresh produce and help raise awareness about food deserts, develop food and garden-related programming, and create a model for food production and distribution.
