Hop on the Historic Raleigh Trolley and learn about the strange history of historic house moving in the City of Oaks! For nearly 200 years, Raleigh citizens have preserved their historic buildings by moving them from place to place. On this special Raleigh Trolley Tour, we’ll discuss how and why they are moved and show you where they went! These hour-long tours begin and end at Mordecai Historic Park. Join us for movie nights this summer at Pullen Park! Families, friends, and film lovers of all ages are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs for a season of outdoor cinema on the event lawn. Screenings will take place on the first Tuesday of every month, kicking off in June and concluding in October. All screenings are free and open to the public. Refreshments and popcorn will be available for purchase at the Pullen Café. The City of Raleigh and We Plant It Forward are teaming up for the 2026 Raleigh Arbor Day Celebration on Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Carolina Pines Park. The event invites community members to take part in a hands-on day of service focused on strengthening Raleigh’s urban tree canopy through volunteer activities and guided environmental stewardship. The celebration will kick off with a ceremonial tree planting and an Arbor Day proclamation, followed by rotating stations where volunteers can learn practical tree-care techniques and support local ecosystems. At the end of the event, participants will receive a free tree to plant at home, to help contribute to Raleigh's community goal of planting 24,000 trees by 2032 through the Leaf Out initiative.
