  • Raleigh Fire Academy Information Session

    Would you like to learn what it takes to be a member of the Raleigh Fire Department (RFD)? If the answer is YES, then join us for our Fire Academy Information Sessions on Thursday, September 28. During the session, you will interact with members of the department. We will share and discuss with you: the Fire Academy; what the hiring process entails; what it’s like to be a member of the Raleigh Fire; and, how to prepare for a career in the fire service. The session will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Keeter Training Center (105 Keeter Center Drive, Raleigh, NC 27601). There will also be a virtual option offered to those who sign up and cannot attend in person, via Teams. Register online (registration closes at 8 a.m. on September 27) The application for the 2024 Academy will be available September 1-30 for an Academy start date of February 12, 2024. The application will be available online through the City of Raleigh website on September 1.

The City's MWBE program is hosting a MED Week Celebration Brunch to recognize the achievements and impacts of minority and women-owned businesses across North Carolina that have contributed to City projects. Raleigh Parks is teaming up with the staff of GoRaleigh to offer a program to teach you to navigate our bus system and learn about apps that can help you along the way! On Thursday, Oct. 26, we will offer two sessions for navigating our bus system. We will meet up at Green Road Community Center and travel aboard the local route.
