    Provide Your Input on the City's Affordable Housing and Community Development Needs for 2026-2027 Each year, the City of Raleigh receives funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds are used for affordable housing initiatives. Initiatives include creating affordable rental and homeownership housing, helping those experiencing or at-risk of homelessness, providing public services to persons with low- and moderate-incomes, and supporting community development needs. The City of Raleigh is projected to get $4.5 million in federal funding next year. We need your input on how to use it! The FY2026-2027 Action Plan Draft is ready to review and available for public comment through April 15.     Hi CAC neighbors, We now have the final agenda for our Hillsborough-Wade CAC meeting which will be two weeks from today: on Tuesday, March 24 at 7:00 PM. AGENDA • Quick update from the Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation. • Presentation about the Fred Fletched Park Improvement Project. This project is a collaborative effort to upgrade athletic and recreational facilities at the park. These improvements will benefit both the Raleigh community and students from Broughton High School. • Affordable Housing in Raleigh. Presentation by City staff from the Housing and Community Development Department about the affordable housing issues facing Raleigh, the department’s ongoing programs, and community needs. During the Q&A conversation following their presentation, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions about what Raleigh should be doing to solve our affordable housing crisis.
