  • When and How does Raleigh Vote? – POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER- NEW DATE TBD

    POSTPONED DUE TO ICY WEATHER - NEW DATE TBD - STAY SAFE WHAT CHANGES ARE COMING TO RALEIGH ELECTIONS? AND WHAT DO RALEIGH VOTERS CARE ABOUT? The next election for Raleigh Mayor and City Council will be held November 3, 2026. But there’s a brand-new primary election first, on March 3, 2026. With a deadline for candidates to file and get on the ballot THIS YEAR — by December 19, 2025. That’s right: To run in 2026, you must file with the Board of Elections by noon on December 19, 2025. Join Livable Raleigh Advisory Committee Members and our guest Elections Expert Gerry Cohen on Monday, December 8, from 7-8:30pm at Jaycee Park, 2405 Wade Avenue to learn all the details. We will also be presenting professional polling results showing what Raleigh voters care about.  If you are unable to join us on December 8, a video recording will be made available after the meeting.   • Hillsborough-Wade CAC featuring At-Large City Council Candidate Forum

    Hi CAC neighbors, The Hillsborough-Wade CAC will be hosting an At-Large City Council Candidate Forum two weeks from today, on Tuesday, January 27th at 7:00 PM on Zoom (link at the bottom of this email). Please put this event on your calendar! As you may know, Raleigh will have a non-partisan primary on March 3rd (early voting is February 12 to 28) and a general election on November 3rd. There will be only two primary races this year: At-Large and District C. Both of those races require a primary due to the number of candidates running.     ONE Wake Candidates and Elected Officials Assembly being held on September 19, 2026 from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at  Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC 27613. More than 1,200 ONE Wake leaders from across Wake County will be in attendance. During the assembly, they will publicly present their affordable housing plan and share their vision for ensuring that working families, teachers, first responders, seniors, and other residents can continue to afford to live in the communities they serve. The goal is to explore practical ways that ONE Wake and the elected officials of Wake county can work together to expand affordable housing and strengthen Wake county.

    Raleigh City Council Candidate Forum  At-Large and District D October 20th – 7:00pm Virtual Forum Hosted by   West Raleigh CAC, Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement and Hillsborough-Wade CAC are holding a joint candidate forum for Raleigh At-Large and District D Candidates on October 20th at 7:00 pm via Zoom. We will follow the traditional format of opening statements followed by questions from our moderators who will focus on topics of interest to our vibrant Raleigh neighborhoods. Participants can submit questions via chat and there will be a time limit on answers. Our CAC’s encourage robust civic engagement and this will be an opportunity to hear from candidates who can offer their vision for Raleigh’s future and how they would tackle today’s issues.
