A. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY THE CHAIR A.1 Item 24-05 USGS Study - Stream Restoration and Stabilization Program (102026) This item was referred to committee during the October 20, 2026 City Council meeting. Council requested an update on the status of the Streambank Erosion Study conducted by the Unites States Geological Survey (USGS), with support funding from Raleigh Stormwater. This update is in follow up to the presentation referencing this study made by Stormwater staff related to streambank protection initiatives during the October 22, 2024 meeting of the Growth and Natural Resources Committee. An overview of the study and data releases are available on the USGS website; a separate Project Story Map titled “Finding Erosion Hotspots in Raleigh, NC" has also been developed. Staff will also provide an update on the Stream Restoration and Stabilization Programs; as part of this update, USGS staff will present the results of the Streambank Erosion Study which completed peer review and was recently published; a copy of the study is also included with the agenda materials.
