Hi CAC neighbors, As many of you know, our Hillsborough-Wade CAC typically has a social meeting in early December, instead of our usual monthly meetings on the 4th Tuesday of the month (which are always very close to the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays). So please join us for our December Hillsborough-Wade CAC Social at The Players Retreat on Tuesday, December 9that 7:00 PM. We’ll be in the room to the left when you come in the front door. TIME Wednesday December 10th 5:30pm - 7:30pm LOCATION Western Blvd Presbyterian Church 4900 Kaplan Drive (lower entrance on north side of the building) It’s our annual Holiday gathering and we hope you can attend! Western Blvd Presbyterian Church has opened the doors to their fellowship hall and we will have refreshments and snacks available. Bring your favorite holiday sweets to share with the group! We will also be collecting suitcases and medical supplies for the non profit “Not Just Tourists” Visit www.njt.net to find out more about the mission of the organization. You can also email raleigh@njt.net for more information. We hope you can attend this in person meeting. We could use cold drinks, salads, fruit, snack food, or whatever you would like to contribute. Please let me know if you are bringing items to share. For general interest, Tuesday, December 2, was a memorable day for CACs. Council took a huge step forward in strengthening the Raleigh CAC organization and partnership with the City by approving additional benefits that will strengthen our ability to fulfill our mission. As part of that agreement, the CACs have joined the Engagement network, along with other public groups that serve area residents in many ways. Another reason to celebrate. Unlike our other meetings, there isn’t any agenda for this meeting. The only item affecting Midtown in the near future is the upcoming North Hills rezoning, with proposals for 40, 20, and 12-story buildings in an area zoned for 12 and 5-story heights.
