Bring the Sculpture into Bloom | A SEEK Raleigh Event

Join Artist Taylor Allison for an interactive installation and performance where the audience will be invited to bring the "Lupine Love" sculpture into bloom. The base of the flower will be bare in the beginning, but the audience performs the "blooming" by placing small, separate bulbs of their choosing into the open slots of the tall base sculpture. "Lupine Love" is a soft sculpture inspired by the Carolina Lupine (Thermopsis villosa), a native herbaceous perennial with upright clumping bulbs. Gifts of Gold Reception

Every spring, Raleigh Arts and United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County partners with Wake County Public School System to produce Gifts of Gold, a temporary art exhibition of Wake County student-made artwork. More than 100 Wake County students, ranging from kindergarteners to high school seniors, are represented in the exhibition. This year's exhibition will be held at the North Carolina Museum of Art from March 19-April 13, with a reception on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. Gifts of Gold is a visual part of Pieces of Gold, a performing arts event that features over 800 students performing in a packed auditorium of parents, teachers, and community leaders in the Memorial Auditorium at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. Street Requiem with the North Carolina Master Chorale

The Chorale and Youth Choir combine forces to sing "Street Requiem", a work written by Australian composer Kathleen McGuire in collaboration with Andy Payne and Jonathon Welch, in order to bring attention to those who suffer from housing insecurity. The composers set English, African, and Persian texts in multiple musical styles, including contemporary, gospel, and indigenous. This moving and uplifting work invites both performers and listeners to contemplate and address this significant social issue together as a community. Join us to celebrate students creativity and storytelling at this year's Capture It Stormwater Art and Video Gallery at the Pullen Park Arts Center. Students in grades 8-12 created compelling artwork and videos related to water quality and how pollution impacts our Raleigh lakes and streams. We are excited to share their important work with the city! The exhibition will be up from May 1 - 31 with a gallery opening celebration on Saturday, May 3 from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
