Closing Reception | Found and Formed Exhibition at Pullen Arts Center
Pullen Arts Center 105 Pullen Rd., Raleigh, NC, United StatesAbout the Exhibition "Found and Formed" showcases the use of reclaimed, reused, recycled, second-hand, and found materials in art. The exhibition features local artists Kelsey Merreck Wagner, Debbie Secan, ndidi kowalczyk, Karen Christie, Sterling Bowen, Stephanie Witchger, and Andrea Vail. The artwork will be on display from May 3 - July 27, 2025. A free closing reception will be held at Pullen Arts Center on Saturday, July 26, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Learn more about the Exhibition at Pullen Arts Center. At this “Village Kids’ Zone and Info. Center” kids will have lots of fun and grown-ups can learn about University Park Village Raleigh, our new initiative to support aging in place. And stay past 3pm for the art sale/auction — viewing and sales start at 2:15p with final sales at 3:45p at Raleigh Little Theatre (Gaddy Theatre). Bring the kids –grown-ups browse the art while kids play bingo at 3p. More than 20 host sites throughout University Park have already signed up for what is shaping up to be a rich and exciting experience, full of fun and surprises for all, including many activities for kids and kids of all ages. Weaving Plastic Bags: Artist-Led Workshop #1
Walnut Creek Wetland Center 950 Peterson St, Raleigh, NCHelp create a public artwork by weaving reused materials! Join SEEK Raleigh artist Patrizia Ferreira at Walnut Creek Wetland Park to co-create public artwork from reused plastic bags. You will be working under Patrizia's direction to turn plastic bags into a large-scale public artwork. Workshops are free to the public. While registration is not required, we encourage you to RSVP on Eventbrite (click the register button above) so we can plan accordingly and receive any event updates. Learn more about the project About the Instructor Patrizia Ferreira is an artist and educator living in Cary, NC. Her work laboriously incorporates the debris of her surroundings—namely, textiles and plastic—to create poetic pieces that speak of our society of over consumption and the state of our environment. By giving life to otherwise inanimate materials, she invites viewers to reflect upon the repercussions our actions cause on our planet. A native of Uruguay, a great part of her work reflects on being an immigrant and being a woman. Patrizia received a BA in textile design from the Institute of Industrial Design in Uruguay and an MS in textile design for prints from Philadelphia University.
