RHDC Certificate of Appropriateness Committee
Public Meeting – May 28, 2026
The RHDC Certificate of Appropriateness Committee will conduct a public meeting on Thursday, May 28 at 5 p.m. in City Council Chamber, 222 West Hargett Street, Raleigh, NC 27601.

The Committee will vote to approve of the order of the Evidentiary Hearing portion of the agenda.
Draft meeting minutes for the April 23, 2026 meeting with Decisions and Findings of Facts will be attached by Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
A total of 10 minor works were approved from 04-08-26 to 05-12-26.

In advance of the upcoming Historic Design Standards update project, staff will lead a guided discussion of the current design standards used to review Certificates of Appropriateness. Staff will provide an overview of the current Design Guidelines for Raleigh Historic Districts and Landmarks, their use, and the structure of the new design standards. This will be a monthly item through July.
This month’s focus is the entirety of Section 2, including several sections dealing with either specific material treatments or individual building features.
Recommended Action: Provide feedback that staff will share with the consultant.
RHDC Certificate of Appropriateness Committee public meetings are held in the Raleigh Municipal Building, City Council Chamber. A broadcast is available via the following methods: the city’s website, the city’s YouTube Channel, or Channel RTN-11.
