This month’s meeting will feature updates on several projects that were initiated in 2025 but are still getting a lot of attention.
The first will be an update on Midtown Neighbors United, organized to advocate for responsible development in the North Hills area of Raleigh. The approval of the rezoning of North Hills was decided too quickly without consideration for city planning guidance or infrastructure sufficiency to support further development. We will also have an update on the Missing Middle case, currently identified as Sub-0037-2025, where 16 townhomes will be built by right on two R-4 lots at Anderson Drive and Six Forks. This case was previously denied by Council when presented for rezoning.
In addition, there will be an update on the Council-chosen pathway for section 1b of the Big Branch Greenway Connector. This is another case where the Council ignored the area residents and chose a path that floods and impacts the surrounding residents while ignoring their concerns. While the greenway is part of the Midtown area plan, the route chosen was not that selected in the plan.
The meeting will continue to be held in hybrid fashion with in-person attendance and virtual attendance using Zoom.
