A Raleigh Historic Landmark application and report has been received for the Lustron House (314 Haywood St).
On October 20, 2020, City Council authorized the use of the Preservation Revolving Fund for the rehabilitation of the Lustron House. The submission of a landmark designation application is a requirement of the loan authorization. The loan was issued and the required historic landmark designation application has now been received.
Criteria for Designation:
No building, structure, site, area or object shall be recommended for designation as a historic landmark unless it is deemed and found by the Historic Development Commission to be of special significance in terms of its historical, prehistorical, architectural, archaeological and cultural importance and to possess integrity of design, setting, workmanship, materials, feeling and association.
The Research Committee meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. in Conference Room 809, One Exchange Plaza building. Upcoming meeting agendas for the RHDC Research Committee can be found on our City Council, Boards and Commissions Agendas and Minutes page.
