Council Member Stormie Forte and Commissioner Vickie Adamson co-chair the City/County Joint Homelessness Task Force. The group is made up of local leaders, community members, and service providers.
The goal of the Task Force is to identify strategies and actions prevent homelessness and ensure the coordination of care for those currently experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The group meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month. A final report of their findings and recommendations will be shared in early 2024.
The public is invited to attend the Joint Homelessness Task Force meeting as a guest. The June meeting details are below:

The purpose of the Task Force is to bring together a diverse group of community stakeholders to carry out a number of tasks including, but not limited to the following:
The work of the Task Force is intended to be time-limited in nature with the engagement anticipated to be six to nine months in duration. Meetings of the Task Force will occur once per month from 10am to 12noon and preliminary meeting dates, times and locations have been identified and are listed below. Meetings are open to the public.
