Old Business C.1 Ligon Alumni Letter At the September 10th RHDC meeting, members of the Ligon High School alumni association spoke during public comment regarding the future of the school and requested information about landmarking possibilities. The RHDC referred the request to the Research Committee to gather additional information, which occurred at the October 1st committee meeting. During the committee report out at the October 8th RHDC meeting, it was requested that a letter to the alumni association be drafted to explain next steps and recommendations. . A draft letter will be attached by end of day Monday, November 17th. D. Adjournment

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Marsh Creek Community Center, we'll have activities, games, and arts/crafts for participants of all ages at this event that will celebrate multiple holidays! Don't worry, the New Year's Countdown and ball drop will be every 30 minutes, so feel free to come at the beginning, middle, or towards the end! This event is free, with pre-registration encouraged. Coming from a long line of cultural leaders that guided him on his walk as a traditionalist, Kaya Littleturtle is currently employed at the North Carolina Museum of History as the Community Programs Coordinator. He is the lead singer of the championship drum group WarPaint, who travels all over Indian country. Littleturtle is an active member of his community’s traditional longhouse and belongs to the Snipe Clan, one of the seven traditional longhouse clans. He is an enrolled member of the Tuscarora Indians of Kahtehnuaka Territories.
