  • City Budget Listening Sessions

    Abbotts Creek Community Center 9950 Durant Rd, Raleigh, NC

    The City is seeking input from residents about priorities for the next City budget. The Budget and Management Services Department (BMS) will host listening sessions between October 1 and 16, and a budget priorities survey will be available between October 1 and November 30. Resident input is critical in creating a representative City budget. There will be six opportunities for in-person engagement, in addition to a virtual session. Virtual Session The virtual listening session will be held via Zoom. Residents who choose the virtual session must pre-register and will receive the Zoom link the day before the session. Wednesday, October 15, 6-7:30 p.m. In-Person Sessions In person sessions will kick off on October 1 and run through October 16. EVENING AGENDA MATTERS SCHEDULED FOR PUBLIC HEARING W.1 Street Closing STC-02-2025: Swinburne Street Right-of-Way A petition has been submitted to close a portion of Swinburne Street that was approved with the Wake III Campus Master Plan (MP-01-2024, Z-08-2024) adopted by council on October 15, 2024. --- Recommended Action: Conduct the hearing. If Council wishes to proceed with the closing, adopt the resolution ordering the closing and related actions with the conditions outlined. W.2 Rezoning Z-12-25: Peace Street and West Street, northeast of the intersection of Peace Street and West Street (District D) Bynum Walter, Planning and Development . This is a request to increase permitted building height and remove industrial uses from future development options. --- Recommended Action: Conduct the public hearing. At the conclusion of the public hearing, City Council may choose to act on the case or defer for further review.
