The Infrastructure and Mobility Committee is a subcommittee of the Planning Commission. Rezoning Z-8-24: Wake III Campus, along New Bern Ave and 1/2 mile west of I-440 Beltline (District C) The Committee of the Whole is an informal special meeting of the full Planning Commission to have further discussions on specific referral items. The Planning Commission bylaws state that rezoning requests that are deemed inconsistent with the Comprehensive Plan and future land use map are automatically referred to the Committee of the Whole. Additionally, requests for Planned Development or Campus District are also automatically referred to this Committee. The committee typically meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. The meetings are held at the Raleigh Municipal Building (RMB), located at 222 West Hargett Street in Room 305.

Free Friday at Mordecai Historic Park

Mordecai Historic Park will offer free tours throughout the day on this special Friday! Tours include the Mordecai House, Andrew Johnson’s birthplace, St. Mark’s Chapel, and the Allen Kitchen. The first tour will begin at 10 a.m. and the last tour starts at 3 p.m. Tours start every 30 minutes and are limited to 20 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring your Photos to Scan and Share with the Method Public Art and History Team In support of the 2022 Parks Bond project at Method Community Park, Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources will be scanning photographs at the Annual Method Days Reunion on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. in the Pioneers Building. You are welcome to bring 1-5 photographs, drawings, or documents relating to the Method Neighborhood, Berry O’Kelly School, and the Method Community Park to the Pioneers Building between 1:15 and 3:15. Each item should be flat and no larger than a sheet of notebook paper. All photos will be scanned on-site and returned to you within 10 minutes.
