Ages: All Cost: Free Commemorating 30 Years: North Carolina Museum of History's American Indian Heritage Celebration Kaya Littleturtle Thursday, Nov. 20 Join us for a free lecture at the City of Raleigh museum with Kaya Littleturtle! Coming from a long line of cultural leaders that guided him on his walk as a traditionalist, Kaya Littleturtle is currently employed at the North Carolina Museum of History as the Community Programs Coordinator. He is the lead singer of the championship drum group WarPaint, who travels all over Indian country. Littleturtle is an active member of his community’s traditional longhouse and belongs to the Snipe Clan, one of the seven traditional longhouse clans. He is an enrolled member of the Tuscarora Indians of Kahtehnuaka Territories.

Led by Carmen Cauthen—family historian, racial equity advocate, and author of Historic Black Neighborhoods of Raleigh—the tour will share powerful stories of Raleigh’s African-American community and highlight the lives and legacies of those laid to rest at this historic site.
