RHDC Community Awareness Commission
Public Meeting – November 4, 2026
The Community Awareness Committee of the Raleigh Historic Development Commission will conduct a public meeting on Wednesday, November 4 at 4 p.m. in conference room 809 of One Exchange Plaza, Raleigh, NC 27601.
For questions about the meeting, please contact historicpreservation@raleighnc.gov.
The conversion of the RHDC independent website to the City of Raleigh website is an ongoing long-term project. The work is led by the City’s Historic Preservation Unit staff with assistance from the RHDC Community Awareness Committee. Any recently published webpages will be highlighted for informational purposes.
To support public education and engagement efforts around the city’s new Historic Preservation Plan, staff will present potential sites to include in a new raleighhistoric.org digital tour. Committee members will provide feedback on final site selection.
The tour will focus on properties located “outside the beltline” that demonstrate the use of various preservation tools. The project will provide information about different levels and types of preservation and how they are used to encourage owners to keep, maintain, and celebrate the old places that make Raleigh unique.
The Committee will discuss future projects and how best to engage volunteer hours moving forward.
The Committee will review public engagement from the previous month to determine if additional action or attention is needed. Commissioners will select planned social media topics for the upcoming month and prepare posts.
