We asked the candidates a series of questions about their policy positions. Links to their responses are here.

Livable Raleigh’s citywide poll by Public Policy Polling (PPP) of registered Raleigh voters highlights continuing trends and significant changes since our 2024 PPP poll. You can read the poll here: Poll Results

Two key findings include only 14% of registered voters believe Raleigh is doing enough to provide affordable housing. Just 18% of voters think the City Council is “doing enough to keep citizens involved and informed.” Both of these changes reflect trends dating from 2020.

Livable Raleigh believes that engaging voters in open and honest dialogue with Council and Mayoral candidates about the issues reflected in this poll and questionnaire is a key to rebuilding trust with voters and producing broadly supported ideas and leaders for Raleigh’s future.

To that end, we asked these questions and are providing the answers so you, the voters, have a way to judge the candidates on the issues you said you care about.

If a candidate has chosen not to respond, you may want to consider their lack of interest in communicating with you in your deliberations on who should earn your vote.

Note – The questionnaires were sent to all candidates on 6/22 with a deadline for returning them of 8/17. Reminders were sent on 7/30, 8/10, 8/14 and 8/17.

You may vote for 2 candidates. The 1st place finisher will be elected to a 4-year term. The 2nd place finisher to a 2-year term and will stand for re-election in 2028 for a 4-year term. At that point the At-Large councilors will be on different election cycles and you will no longer vote for 2 candidates.
