The Dr. Morley and Carol Kare House was designed by Raymond Sawyer in 1962. The house is a highly significant example of modernist style’s defining characteristics: a post-and-beam framework, wide roof overhang, large areas of glass walls, and an integration with the natural site. It is one of a handful of Sawyer’s designs in Raleigh that survive.
