In this spotlight, Kara Lynn Sanders (affectionately known as Momma Kai) will share 3 Compassionate Steps to Eliminating Homelessness. It is part of a 3x3x3 outline that also addresses 3 barriers to implementing the steps and 3 steps to get started. These are the introduction to a feasible master blueprint to eliminate homelessness locally, then globally. Having been without stable housing for the last 4 years, she provides unique insight from the perspective of "living the experience", present tense. The Infrastructure and Mobility Committee is a subcommittee of the Planning Commission. This subcommittee can discuss issues related to transportation, transit, and infrastructure policies and improvements and connections related to land use or large transportation planning efforts. The committee typically meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 3 p.m. The meetings are held at the Raleigh Municipal Building (RMB), located at 222 West Hargett Street in room 303.
The Committee of the Whole is an informal special meeting of the full Planning Commission to have further discussions on specific referral items. The Planning Commission bylaws state that rezoning requests that are deemed inconsistent with the Comprehensive Plan and future land use map are automatically referred to the Committee of the Whole. Additionally, requests for Planned Development or Campus District are also automatically referred to this Committee.
