Join Peter Rabbit and friends for a playful adventure filled with puppetry, lively characters and opportunities to join the fun! Presented by Seed Art Share, The Many Adventures of Peter Rabbit is a locally written, interactive theatre production for young audiences. Four professional actors bring multiple characters to life, inviting audience members to participate in the story, answer questions and respond to the action. The venue is the Grove at Dorothea Dix Park and the nearby greenway trail. Along the way, children explore garden vegetables, animals, new vocabulary and with help from Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle—different types of clothing. The performance runs approximately 40 minutes, with an optional question-and-answer session afterward to learn about the show and working in theatre. Seed Art Share is a local nonprofit theatre company dedicated to building community through interactive theatre, arts education and support for parent artists. The company brings locally written productions to unexpected places throughout the Triangle, including parks, gardens, museums and historic sites, and offers classes, workshops and camps for young people. |

Join artist Adam Cooley and learn the art of batik! You'll create a piece of art to take home and help contribute to future public art piece that will be displayed at Brentwood Park. Workshop participants will learn batik, a wax resist technique. They'll apply melted wax to cotton cloth, then brush dye over it. The wax blocks the dye where it covers, leaving patterns in the cloth. Hot wax will be used at supervised stations. Each person will leave with their own piece of waxed and dyed cloth, along with simple instructions for finishing it at home. This workshop is for adults, age 18 and up. It's limited to 6 participants and costs $5. Participants will be working with hot wax and should plan to wear clothing that they are okay to get dye on. Register here
