Historic churches face many challenges. These historic spaces are havens of resilience, activism, and cultural identity. They are also physical reminders of that legacy to their communities. This work session will provide more details about the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Preserving Black Churches grant and walk through creating an account for the grant application system. The information we'll be sharing is aimed at church leadership and decision makers. Please plan to bring a laptop to the event to create a grant portal account. One person can register on behalf of all members attending from the same church. Registration is required to ensure we provide accurate estimates to our caterer. Event registration will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 22. If you have dietary restrictions, or need language services, please let us know via the registration form. |

The Deep Dive Grant Writing Workshop is a three-hour session for nonprofit staff to learn about grant writing from the funder’s perspective. The workshop will focus on writing grant narratives, responding to open-ended questions that funders often ask. Using narrative questions from the Raleigh Arts Commission’s grant application, we’ll discuss effective ways to tell funders about your organization. We’ll cover how to write about your hopes and dreams, your triumphs and challenges, in a straightforward way that helps funders better understand your organization and programming. You'll leave this workshop with new ideas and more effective ways to tell your story in a grant narrative. Expect lots of discussion and learning from your fellow workshop participants. Join us! Event details When: June 24, 2025, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Cost: Free of charge Where: Five Points Center for Active Adults, 2000 Noble Road, Raleigh, NC 2760 |
