Tim Beatley is coming to Raleigh! Date is Sept. 25th at All Faith’s Chapel on Dix Park. The talk begins at 5:30. Please help spread the word with colleagues as well as with members of Raleigh’s boards and commissions. Does the name ring a bell but you don’t remember the connection? Tim Beatley is the founder of the Network of Biophilic Cities. Raleigh is a member of the Network but apparently this status is not well understood or appreciated. Help spread the word. https://dorotheadixpark.org/event/being-biophilic-city-raleighs-present-future-sustainable-design Understanding the significance of Raleigh’s status as a member of the Network of Biophilic Cities is vital when considering how our city is being built as it grows. Would you like to see more green wall planters on our tall parking decks? Would you like to see roof top gardens providing habitat for birds and a green outdoor space for people living in tall buildings? Would you like to see more tree lined streets and plants that attract butterflies, bees and birds as well as more stormwater retention gardens? There are many innovative environmentally wise projects Raleigh could be implementing IF we citizens knew of them. Let’s learn what other cities are doing! |
