Help create a public artwork by weaving reused materials! Join SEEK Raleigh artist Patrizia Ferreira at Walnut Creek Wetland Park to co-create a public artwork out of reused plastic bags. Workshops are free to the public. While registration is not required, we encourage you to RSVP on Eventbrite (click the register button above) so we can plan accordingly and receive any event updates. Learn more about the project About the Instructor Patrizia Ferreira is an artist and educator living in Cary, NC. Her work laboriously incorporates the debris of her surroundings—namely, textiles and plastic—to create poetic pieces that speak of our society of over consumption and the state of our environment. By giving life to otherwise inanimate materials, she invites viewers to reflect upon the repercussions our actions cause on our planet. A native of Uruguay, a great part of her work reflects on being an immigrant and being a woman. Patrizia received a BA in textile design from the Institute of Industrial Design in Uruguay and an MS in textile design for prints from Philadelphia University.
