Community Input on the Draft 2026-2030 Consolidated Plan

The plan describes how the City will use federal and local funds to create affordable housing, address homelessness, and serve low- and moderate-income communities over the next five years. The City expects to receive $4.5 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) next fiscal year (beginning July 1) and $22.5 million over the next five fiscal years. The draft Consolidated Plan can be reviewed here and is available for public comment through Monday, April 13th. Hi CAC neighbors, We have an agenda update for our Hillsborough-Wade CAC meeting this coming Tuesday, March 25 at 7:00 PM. We will meet on Zoom, the link is below. Our meeting will feature a presentation on AI (Artificial Intelligence). This will be a good opportunity to learn more about AI and how you can use it. Agenda • Police report. • Update from Hillsborough-Street Community Service Corporation. • Presentation about AI: understanding the basics and “how-tos” plus an overview on AI developments and how they impact us. • Update on rezoning cases in our CAC. The applicant for rezoning case Z-54-22, which was voted down by City Council two years ago, is restarting the process to bring this case back before City Council. Our District D City Councilor led the effort to deny this rezoning request two years ago. Now the applicant is coming forward with some money for the future Smokey Hollow city park and some money for the City’s affordable housing fund.
