Good afternoon, friends,
You may have seen in the news on WRAL that the city of Raleigh’s Go-Raleigh Access (ADA paratransportation for persons with disabilities) has implemented a new software program which has fundamentally changed the nature of this service in our city.
On August 15, 2023, many persons who use this service appeared before city council during public comment to voice their views, concerns and frustration. While council expressed concerns and had questions of transit staff, we feel it necessary to hold another meeting to continue to impress upon city council the urgency of this matter. Therefore, I do request that you come to this meeting to lend your support in this effort. Some of you may have persons with disabiliites in your family who may use this service or may in the future have need of it. See the information below. thanks for your consideration and support.
Carolina friends,
We were very successful in having our transportation concerns heard at the August 15, 2023 meeting of the Raleigh City Council. Both the council and the staff of the Go Raleigh/Art program have a deeper understanding of our frustrations and how we have been so greatly adversely impacted with the new transportation software. As a follow-up, you are invited to attend a panel discussion program where further insights and ideas will be gained to strengthen and make better the Go Raleigh ADA transportation program. Everyone will have the opportunity to engage with the pannal and other guests. The meeting will be held on the evening of August 23 from 5:30 until 7:30 at the Community United Church of Christ/814 Dixie Trail/Raleigh. Sighted guide and other types of assistance will be available. Contact me at (919) 616 1606 or [email protected] with any questions.
