Event Details

  • Date:

In 2021 and 2022 the City Council adopted changes to the City’s zoning code which intended to promote alternative housing types (sometimes referred to as “missing middle”) such as duplexes, townhouses, and small apartments. Many of these changes were technical in nature but help to increase the supply of available homes for people of different ages, incomes, and lifestyle preferences.

Beginning in January 2023, the City will be hosting a series of events related to zoning changes, housing affordability, and sustainable growth. All events are open to the public, though some may require advance registration. Please read below for more information.

Information Sessions

During these information sessions, participants will view examples of missing middle housing in Raleigh and staff will provide an overview of the zoning changes and discuss the process that got us here. There will also be time to ask questions and provide feedback in smaller groups. Meetings will be held in-person across Raleigh and there will also be a virtual option. All are welcome to attend any meeting in any district.
