Town Hall on Race, Intention and Healing Day One

January 18 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The City of Raleigh Equity (CORE) Team presents the second Town Hall “Race and Intention: Healing the Wound That Will Not Heal Itself.” The two-day event begins on Tuesday, Jan. 18 and concludes on Wednesday, Jan. 19.  The City of Raleigh is working to advance racial equity as we carry out our work and deliver services to the community.

“Race and Intention: Healing the Wound That Will Not Heal Itself”

in·ten·tion
/inˈten(t)SH(ə)n/

  1. Intention is about something one intends to do, an aim or a plan.
  2. Intention is also defined in medicine as the healing process of a wound.

Together, we want to be intentional about our advancement of racial equity toward healing the wounds that racism has created. The absence of an intentional approach will continue a wound that will not heal itself.

The town hall is part of a larger celebration which is paying homage to the National Day of Racial Healing on Jan. 18. City of Raleigh Equity Week is seizing this moment to “bring ALL people together in their common humanity…[to] take collective action to create a more equitable world.”
