SUMMARY:Elections\, Libraries staff partner on one of largest initiatives to date
DESCRIPTION:Elections\, Libraries staff partner on one of largest initiatives to date \nThe Wake County Board of Elections and Wake County Public Libraries are partnering to offer voter services at eight local libraries on Saturdays this summer. Events will take place from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. June 22 through Aug. 17\, with the exception of July 6. \nBoard of Elections staff will visit eight libraries over eight weekends to offer voter registration updates and upcoming election information. Visitors will also be able to get a photo voter ID\, which is now required to be shown by registered voters who do not already have an acceptable ID. A full list of accepted voter IDs can be found at  ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id. \n“We always strive to empower more people to vote in Wake County by making information and resources as accessible as possible\,” said Olivia McCall\, Board of Elections director. “This collaboration with the libraries is an excellent opportunity for us to provide accurate information and help residents better prepare for the upcoming elections.” \nThe two organizations have worked together to offer voter registration at local libraries for years\, but this is one of the largest initiatives ever planned. The events provide a convenient opportunity for residents to get their voting needs met at locations across Wake County. \nJoin library and elections staff at one of the following events: \n\nJune 22 –  Duraleigh Road Community Library in Raleigh\nJune 29 –  Fuquay Varina Community Library in Fuquay-Varina\nJuly 13 –  Southeast Regional Library in Garner\nJuly 20 –  Oberlin Regional Library in Raleigh\nJuly 27 –  West Regional Library in Cary\nAug. 3 –  East Regional Library in Knightdale\nAug. 10 –  Eva Perry Regional Library in Apex\nAug. 17 –  Northeast Regional Library in Raleigh
