SUMMARY:Millbrook Exchange Park Stream Project Public Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Raleigh Stormwater is hosting a public meeting to discuss the status of the Millbrook Exchange Park Stream Project. At this meeting\, the City will be answering questions and soliciting feedback and concerns from the public. \nLearn more about the Millbrook Exchange Park Stream Project. \n\n\n \nBackground\nIn 2019\, an innovative technique using in-stream stone structures was implemented to reduce stream erosion at Millbrook Exchange Park and prevent pollution from flowing into Perry Creek. After the project was completed\, heavy rainfall and streamflow damaged the structures. The City has contracted with Ecosystem Planning & Restoration (EPR) to make necessary repairs to the project. Proposed repairs include raising the elevation of the streambed\, armoring the structures with stone\, and constructing a floodplain bench that will be planted with native tree and shrub species.

SUMMARY:Oakwood community rezoning meeting with Mayor Pro Tem Branch
DESCRIPTION:Oakwood will host a community meeting on Thursday\, May 18th beginning at 7 PM at Open Table Church (where we vote).  Our District C Councilman (and Mayor pro Tem)\, Corey Branch\, will be there to answer questions and receive feedback regarding the upcoming decision on proposed zoning changes.  Also\, participating will be Ira Mable from the City Planning Department\, who is one of the architects of the proposed changes.  This will be in a panel discussion format where you can make a statement or you can ask a question.  Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.  It appears the City may have this decision before them by their June 25th meeting.  They need to hear from their constituents in neighborhoods like ours that will be impacted\, so please consider attending and letting them know your thoughts.  We also have a Board meeting on Thursday\, May 11th.  I hope to see you at both meetings. \n\nDee Penven-Crew\nPresident\, SPHO
