It’s called Trees for the Triangle and they have made some impressive gains in the tree canopy in Raleigh\, having planted over 5\,000 trees in the past 8 years.\nTheir mission statement is clear:\nAt Trees for the Triangle\, our mission is to improve the social and ecological resilience of the Triangle area through the planting of native trees. We believe that trees are vital to the well-being of our communities and the environment. Trees are not just aesthetic additions to our landscapes; they are powerful agents of positive change that can directly improve the lives of everyone in North Carolina.\n \nWe hope you can join us on Wednesday evening via zoom to learn more. SUMMARY:Midtown CAC Hybrid Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Please mark your calendars for this month’s upcoming Midtown CAC meeting. Our agenda includes the monthly police activity report for Midtown and updates from our City Council representatives. Due to the City staff blackout for CAC presentations\, in place until after elections\, we are taking a different direction this month. Our guest speaker will be local realtor Maya Galletta\, with Legacy Partners\, Remax United. She will provide us with an update on the Raleigh real estate market with some discussion on market analysis and the need for different forms of housing. With people still moving to Raleigh at a very high rate\, the question becomes whether our current housing production is meeting that need. Does the City approach of density\, density\, density everywhere help us provide sufficient housing for all sectors\, while preserving the uniqueness and character of existing neighborhoods? Should be an interesting discussion. Please join us for that conversation.\n\nOne special note: the November meeting date has been revised to November 16 so that we don’t compete with any family or vacation planning for the week of Thanksgiving.

These issues arise due to a variety of reasons including recent text changes\, application of the code to unique situations\, and unclear/imprecise language. To ensure continuous improvement of the city’s land development regulations\, staff utilizes the omnibus text change program to bundle these corrections and improvements into a single ordinance. Items included in the omnibus are modest in their impact and address minor\, rather than major\, policy areas.\n.\nOn October 21\, 2026\, the Planning Commission Text Change Committee discussed this item and reported it out with no recommendation.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nD.2\n\nText Change TC-6-26: Custom Signage Plan Amendments\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJustin Bucher\, Planning and Development\n\n\n.\n\n\nThis is an external text change that proposes amendments to UDO Section 10.2.21.G\, which establishes additional limitations for Custom Signage Plans. The proposal would increase the maximum number of lines of copy allowed on certain ground and tract identification signs from 5 to 10 lines and increase the maximum sign area from 100 square feet to 300 square feet.\n\n\nThe proposed changes are intended to provide additional flexibility for identification and directional signage within developments that qualify for a Custom Signage Plan.\n\n\nOn October 21\, 2026\, the Planning Commission Text Change Committee discussed this item and reported it out with no recommendation.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nE.\n\nOther Business\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nE.1\n\nReport of the Chair\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nE.2\n\nReport of the Members\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nE.3\n\nReport of the Assistant Director\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nE.3.a\n\nReport of the Assistant Director\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReceive as information.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nF.\n\nAdjournment\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Commission typically meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 9 a.m. The meetings are held at the Raleigh Municipal Building (RMB)\, located at 222 West Hargett Street.
