The concern of this trend is loss of open space for future roadway expansion and green space. This is a significant change to the current landscape of Raleigh with larger roadway setbacks and taller established tree scapes\n– Integration of “Missing Middle” into established neighborhoods – what fits and what doesn’t especially with reduced side yard setbacks (tight density).\n– Possible outcome of public input sessions from outreach on Missing Middle? \nQuestion and Answer – Planning staff / MCAC residents \n8:45 Old / New Business\, Announcements\, Remarks 7) 9:00 Adjournment \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nZoom Meeting Link: \n\n\n\n\nJoin Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86172852122?pwd=cS92NjVIQng4TWRYUXBHSUpYc3hZUT09 \nMeeting ID: 861 7285 2122\nPasscode: 347661\nOne tap mobile +16468769923\,\,86172852122#\,\,\,\,*347661# US (New York) +16469313860\,\,86172852122#\,\,\,\,*347661# US \nVisit our Midtown CAC Facebook page: \nhttps://www.facebook.com/MidtownCAC \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nOther events of note:\n\n\nMidtown CAC Community Announcements\, February 17\, 2023 : \nUrgent – Karen Solari resigning from being chairman of Nominating committee \nThank you for your years of service \nStill seeking volunteer for chairman or committee participation \nCouncilor for District A Mary Black Community Get Together \nBiggby Coffee\, Saturday\, February 18\, 2023 at 12 pm to 2 pm \nColony Shopping Center \n5424 Six Forks Rd \nRaleigh\, NC 27609 \nCity events and conversations: \nTake our Midtown Bridge Survey!(link is external)\nSurvey closes on Feb. 28 \nCity Council Public Comments Survey \nThe poll is posted on Engage Raleigh (Public Input) and will be pushed out via our social media channels. SUMMARY:Hillsborough-Wade CAC meeting
DESCRIPTION:Hi Hillsborough-Wade CAC friends\, \nPlease put our monthly Hillsborough-Wade CAC meeting on your calendar for Tuesday\, February 28th at 7:00 PM. The Zoom link invitation is at the bottom of this email. Also\, please forward this email to your neighborhood listserv (if your neighborhood has one). \nOur main presentation and discussion will be about “Missing Middle” housing in Raleigh and the corresponding text changes (TC-5-20 and TC-20-21) in Raleigh’s Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). Patrick Young and other Planning Department staff will do a 30 minute presentation with visuals\, and then we’ll have a Q&A session. This will be your opportunity to better understand these text changes\, ask questions\, and give feedback to Raleigh’s Planning & Development Department. \nNOTE: As you know\, we were going to have this missing middle in housing presentation at our January meeting\, but a special session of the City Council was called for that evening and Patrick Young had to attend that meeting instead of our CAC meeting. He will join us at our February meeting. \nBetween now and February 28th\, if you would like to do some homework and become more familiar with this subject\, go to: FAQ: Raleigh’s Missing Middle and What is the Missing Middle? \nAs some of you may recall\, we had a Missing Middle presentation by Charles Dillard and Jason Hardin at our August 2021 H-W CAC meeting that was very informative; but that was before text change TC-20-21\, so they could only address text change TC-5-20 and its impact on Raleigh’s missing middle in housing. Click here to see that presentation. Since then TC-20-21 was approved\, and both text changes became a campaign issue in the last election. As our beautiful City continues to grow\, these issues are only going to get more complex for Raleigh residents. Please join us so you can understand what’s happening now and what the future may look like. \nCurrent Agenda:\n• Police report by Office Kevin Taylor\n• Update from the Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation\n• Missing Middle Housing presentation by Patrick Young\, Planning and Development Director for Raleigh\n• H-W CAC Business Issues (if time permits) \nSee you on Tuesday February 26th\, \nMike Lindsay\nChair of the Hillsborough-Wade CAC \nPhone:919-828-0619\nMobile: 919-429-0177\ninform@nc.rr.com \nTopic: Hillsborough-Wade CAC February Meeting \nTime: Feb 28\, 2023 07:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada) \nJoin Zoom Meeting \nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/86997046720?pwd=d1RBcW5jVnNSNzVjOG1zK0VCK2gzQT09 \nMeeting ID: 869 9704 6720 \nPasscode: 294774 \nOne tap mobile \n+13092053325\,\,86997046720#\,\,\,\,*294774# US \n+13126266799\,\,86997046720#\,\,\,\,*294774# US (Chicago) \nDial by your location \n        +1 309 205 3325 US \n        +1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago) \n        +1 646 558 8656 US (New York) \n        +1 646 931 3860 US \n        +1 301 715 8592 US (Washington DC) \n        +1 305 224 1968 US \n        +1 719 359 4580 US \n        +1 253 205 0468 US \n        +1 253 215 8782 US (Tacoma) \n        +1 346 248 7799 US (Houston) \n        +1 360 209 5623 US \n        +1 386 347 5053 US \n        +1 507 473 4847 US \n        +1 564 217 2000 US \n        +1 669 444 9171 US \n        +1 669 900 9128 US (San Jose) \n        +1 689 278 1000 US \nMeeting ID: 869 9704 6720 \nPasscode: 294774 \nFind your local number: https://us02web.zoom.us/u/kdlZ2rHNes \n

The report is available to the public. It lists all properties in the neighborhood\, designating them as contributing (built before 1947) or not contributing and offering a brief summary of the structure. Please contact mhpc@mordecaicac.org to be emailed a copy. \nSince the last architectural survey in 1998\, the Mordecai Place neighborhood has gone from 167 contributing (historic) structures to 154.This approval clears the way for the neighborhood to more seriously consider historic overlay and preservation options for Mordecai Place. We will be holding an informational meeting with Tania Tully of the RHDC and members of the Mordecai Historic Preservation Committee to answer questions and concerns and to share next steps. Learn more about their research and proposals for the Mordecai Place neighborhood.  Please register in advance. \nMCAC Agenda\nMarch 16\, 2023\nOnline meeting 7:30-8:30pm \n\nWelcome/Agenda \nAnnouncements\nPolice Report\nCommittee updates: \n-Clover Lane Rezoning Committee\n-Brookside Townhomes \n“Streetside HOD for Mordecai?” \nMore info about Streetside HODs here: https://rhdc.org/sites/default/files/streetside_HOD_staff_presentation.pdf\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMordecai CAC\nthe key to strong community\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease connect with Mordecai community neighbors through our our website\, http://mordecaicac.org and also on NextDoor Community\, the MCAC Facebook page\, Instagram\, and Twitter.
