DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the Task Force is to bring together a diverse group of community stakeholders to carry out a number of tasks including\, but not limited to the following: \n\nUnderstanding and assessing the current elements of the homeless service system in Wake County\nIdentifying and prioritizing emerging issues related to homelessness in our community (e.g.\, homeless encampments and enforcement)\nMaking recommendations to local government units and homeless service providers to improve the homeless service system\nProviding the community with information about available resources that exist within the homeless service system\n\nThe work of the Task Force is intended to be time-limited in nature with the engagement anticipated to be six to nine months in duration.  Meetings of the Task Force will occur once per month from 10am to 12noon and preliminary meeting dates\, times and locations have been identified and are listed below. Captain LaTour (SE). Our District has two new District Commanders. Hopefully\, they can join us.\nOur November meeting (with DDNA invited) will Concentrate on Municipal Service Districts – Municipal Service Districts (MSD) currently exist in Downtown Raleigh and the Hillsborough Street area. Their purpose is to support business activity and community in an area. The Blue Ridge Corridor Alliance will be making a presentation for our meeting regarding their request of Raleigh City Council to consider creating a Municipal Service District for the West Raleigh Community. A similar conversation has been made that will pertain to the South Saunders/ Lake Wheeler Road area.\nChanges in Community Group Meetings – Comments and updates from our community leaders and residents.\nWe plan to broadcast the meeting on Facebook if you would prefer to watch it and not participate.\n\nOur next meeting is scheduled for December 11th.
