DESCRIPTION:Following the previous email sent last week regarding the Neuse River Park Master Plan\, please note the following important corrections to the timeline and meeting format: \n\nThe August 27 Community Advisory Group (CAG) meeting will now be held virtually. The agenda and virtual meeting details are available on the engagement portal.\nThe target date for the Parks\, Recreation\, and Greenway Advisory Board meetinghas been updated to November 21\, 2024 (previously October 17).\n\nThank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to ensure the success of this project. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNeuse River Park Master Plan Update\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe wanted to provide you with a few important timeline updates regarding the Neuse River Park Master Plan. \nRaleigh Parks is targeting the October 17th meeting of the Parks\, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board Meeting for Master Plan approval. We will be holding an additional Community Advisory Group meeting to determine which park elements will be prioritized for the first phase of development and which may need to be included in future phases. \nUpcoming Meetings: \n\nAugust 27\, 2024\, at 5:30 PM: Discussion on final priorities with the Community Advisory Group at Annie Louise Wilkerson\, MD Nature Preserve Education Center.\nSeptember 23\, 2024\, at 5:30 PM: Additional Community Advisory Group Meeting at Forest Ridge Park to vote on the final Master Plan document.\n\nYour feedback is essential to ensuring that the Neuse River Park meets the needs of our community. DESCRIPTION:Hi CAC neighbors\, \nA week from today our Hillsborough-Wade CAC meeting will be on Tuesday\, August 27th at 7:00 PM. We will meet on Zoom and the link is at the bottom of this email. \nCurrent Agenda:\n• Police report\n• Update from the Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation.\n• Update on rezoning case Z-83-22 (property includes where the Arby’s was on Hillsborough Street).\n• City Councilors Christina Jones and Jane Harrison will tell us what the City of Raleigh has been doing since the February 2024 vote to re-establish City support and official recognition of the RCAC. Then we’ll have a group discussion about the future of Raleigh’s CACs. \nAs you know\, our H-W CAC boundary includes parts of City Council Districts D and E. So I’m very excited that we’ll get to hear from our City Council representatives about what the City of Raleigh has been doing since the February 2024 vote to re-establish City support and official recognition of the RCAC. It will also be very productive and useful for our CAC residents to hear about our Councilors’ vision for the future of CACs\, and for our City Councilors to hear from you about what you would like to see happen in the future. \nThe RCAC Board is currently asking each CAC Board to complete a survey asking for opinions and visions for the future of Raleigh’s Citizen Advisory Councils. I hope to be able to share that with you at our August 27th meeting. This is obviously a very important topic to our CAC members\, and we need to make sure we’re “all on the same page” and hopefully “rowing in the same direction.” (That’s enough metaphors for a Friday afternoon!) \n\n\nThe RCAC Board is currently asking each CAC Board to complete a survey asking for opinions and visions for the future of Raleigh’s Citizen Advisory Councils.
